Obituary for Willie A. McCants

Willie A. McCants of Dorchester, fondly known as Junior, at 83 years young, passed away surrounded by family on January 27, 2023.

He was born on July 29, 1939, in Gable, South Carolina. He was the seventh of twelve siblings to the late Milroy McCants and Annie (McFadden) McCants. Gone on before, he will be welcomed by his beloved father and mother, two brothers: Walter McCants and John Berlin McCants.

Willie A. McCants was a beloved husband to Elizabeth McCants of Dorchester, devoted father of two daughters: Raquel D. McCants (Gregory Jackson) of Dorchester, Natalie Y. McCants of Jamaica Plain and granddaughter, Natisha C. McCants of Dorchester; dear to his surviving siblings: six sisters: Betty Goodman, Carolyn Wheeler, Anne Elizabeth Wheeler, Ethel Rister, Jannie Isom all of South Carolina, Mary Nell Simmons of Pennsylvania; three brothers: Thaddeus McCants (Lizzie), Therin McCants (Mary) of South Carolina, and Johnathan McCants of North Carolina; one sister-in-law: Christina (Joy) McCants of South Carolina, and favored by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family has asked you to join them at the Repast following the burial service. Hiram Grand Lodge, 98 Talbot Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02124.
