Toriano (“Torry”) Robert Johnson, a child of God, was born on September 15, 1977, in Boston, Massachusetts to Vivian (Johnson) Williams and Robert Corry. He was the oldest of Vivian’s three sons. Torry transitioned to his eternal resting place on April 1, 2023.
Torry’s childhood was spent in Norwood, Massachusetts, where he attended the Norwood Public School system, graduating from Norwood Senior High School in 1995. Shortly thereafter, Torry attended Salem State University where he majored in Business. Along with his academic achievements, his most rewarding accomplishment was his work with the Lower Roxbury Whittier Street Health Center’s Youth Program. Starting in 2002, Torry was instrumental in developing and organizing youth programs for children in the community.
Torry had a magnetic smile and charisma that would light up any room he entered. Inclusive and selfless, he made sure everyone was taken care of and was always willing to help out, no matter the task. His lovable personality allowed him to become family with anyone he met (even if it was the first time). Torry LOVED to eat which naturally led to his love for cooking. He would often tell his mother that she needed to experiment more with spices and expand her palate. After all, he was “Chef Boyar-Tee” as he often told her and others.
To cherish his memories forever Torry leaves his mother, Vivian Williams of Norwood, MA, father, Robert Corry of Boston, MA, brothers Christian Williams of Los Angeles, CA, Darius Williams of Norwood, MA, sister Jasmine Battle (Mike) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and a host of loving aunties, uncles, cousins, extended relatives, and friends. Predeceased and resting in God’s care is Torry’s stepfather Stanley Williams 4/8/22.
Take your rest, Toriano. Your memory and legacy will live on through eternity
