Obituary for Stanley Williams

Stanley Williams, a child of God, was born on October 24, 1958, in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Julia Mae Williams and Ralph Powell. He was the youngest of four children – three boys and one girl. Stanley was called to serve God on April 8, 2022.

Stanley’s childhood was spent in the Orchard Park housing development in Roxbury. He attended Boston Public Schools graduating from Boston Trade School in 1976. Shortly thereafter, Stanley joined the United States Marine Corps and traveled to many places, stationed in the Philippines and Hawaii to name a few. Because of his performance he received very good evaluations and was asked to stay on which he did remaining overseas for an additional 6-month extension before returning to Boston.

Upon returning to Boston, Stan worked various jobs. Yet his most loved job was working at Northeastern University in the facilities department where he stayed for 17 years until he could no longer continue due to his illness.

Stanley was predeceased by both his parents. To cherish his memories forever, Stanley leaves his wife Vivian of nearly three decades, sons Darius Williams of Norwood, MA; Christian Williams of Los Angeles, CA: and Toriano Johnson of Boston, MA; and a daughter Jasmine Battle (son-in-law Michael Battle) of Raleigh, NC. Also, to cherish his memories forever are his siblings Brenda Bly (brother-in-law Larry Bly) of Westwood, MA; Phillip Williams of Jacksonville, Fl; Fendrick Bush (sister-in-law Ruby Bush) of Hyde Park, MA, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends. He also leaves behind his beloved Jack Russell, Sasha.
