Obituary for Ruth Lenora Lewis-Watson
One of our shining lights is now shining down upon us from heaven. She will always be known as Ruthie and Auntie Lee to all of her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. To the entire Lewis family, she was steadfast, classy and true to the end.
Ruth Lenora Lewis Watson departed her earthly life on May 2, 2022 of natural causes.
Lenora was born on June 7, 1946 to the late Eddie and Ruby Lee Lewis in Rose Hill, Mississippi. Her parents desired a better life for her and her siblings, so they mutually decided that they should move to Brockton, Massachusetts. This is where the family planted their roots.
Lenora was wed in matrimony to the late Cliff Watson. Lenora did not have any children of her own, but she was a mother figure to her countless host of nieces and nephews. She did it effortlessly and with grace. They all admired her and were happy she was a part of their lives.
Lenora joined Messiah Baptist Church after moving to Brockton. She loved teaching Sunday School, serving as a member of the Missionary Society, and being a part of the Messiah Community.
She worked numerous years as a nurse assistant and was a self proclaimed homemaker to countless families that love her as much as her own family did. Lenora had no problem with cooking any dish. Her favorite dish to make was seafood deviled eggs. She took great delight in feeding her family and friends.
Memories of her will always be cherished by her siblings: Roosevelt Lewis and his wife, Juanita, of Leesburg, Florida, Ruby Jeanette Roberts of Piscataway, New Jersey, Eddie Lewis of Pachuta Mississippi, Northa Faye Keene of Randolph, MA, Mary Catherine Henderson, Evangelist Rozine McGee, John B. Lewis, Albert Lewis and Wilbert Lewis, all of Brockton Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Jessie and Larry Lewis and Joyce Lewis Tagger.
