Obituary for Rosie E. Anderson (Cook)
Rosie E. Anderson, 90, of Boston, Massachusetts passed away in her sleep on December 18, 2021 while in hospice care at Kaplan House (Danvers, MA). Rosie E. Anderson attended Manual High School in Denver, Colorado. She went on to earn her Masters of Education degree at Cambridge Community College in Cambridge, MA. Rosie Anderson later owned and operated Magic Years Day Care Center in the early 1970s and retired in 2004. She dedicated her life educating children in the Mattapan area.
Her home was known as "Hotel". If you needed a place to lay your head or call home for a while, there was always a room in the "Hotel".
Rosie E. Anderson has been a member of the Church of Christ in the surrounding area for more than 40 years. There was never a church service she didn't want to attend. Church was her second home and her church family meant everything to her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Minister James L. Anderson; son, Peter L. Anderson; and survived by three sons: Gary L. Anderson (spouse, Helen); Clarence J. Anderson (spouse, Cynthia); Jerrold E. Anderson (spouse, Lola); and loving granddaughter/daughter and spouse Thelonious Ford.
Mrs. Anderson had 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days.
