Obituary for Louise "LuLu" Miller (Crawford)
A time To Be Born... Louise Miller, was born on July 10, 1934 in Coosa County, Alabama to the late John Ocie and Minnie Bell Crawford.
She was the second of nine children. In 1963, Louise relocated to Boston, MA. A Time To Serve... Louise "LuLu" accepted Christ early in life and joined the Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church in Rockford, Alabama. After moving to Boston, she first joined the St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Later on, she transferred to the Southern Baptist Church and finally she settled and became a member of the Timothy Baptist Church on June 5, 1994.
A Time To Love...“LuLu” really loved her family. She enjoyed cooking and hosting family BBQ’s in her backyard and would often save recipes from the paper to pass down to the younger generation. You could always find a good old magazine or newspaper on her coffee table as loved to collect “the paper.” She would often take us down memory lane and share childhood stories from Alabama. Her “yellow house” was often the gathering place.
" A Time To Labor... "LuLu" pursued her higher education in the medical field. She attended the Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, AL. Upon completion she became a Registered Nurse (RN and took her first job at a hospital in Anniston, Alabama. After relocating to Boston, she became employed at the Massachusetts General Hospital, where she labored until retirement for 34 years.
A Time To Mourn... Louise sowed a life well lived and now she has reaped her well done. She waspreceded in death by one sister: Allie Lee Simpson and four brothers: J.B. Crawford (Juliette), Jeremiah Crawford, Oscar Benjamin Crawford, and Ocie Crawford. She leaves to celebrate her memory; three sisters: Johnnie Mae Maxwell, Mary Goggans, and Beatrice Worden (Billy). Two sister-in-laws: Katie Crawford and Donnette Crawford. A host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. A special care provider: Gwen.
