Lena M. Blakely went to be with “Our Lord” in heaven on November 3, 2018. Lena (Lean) was born on May 28, 1941 in Waynesboro Mississippi to the union of Elmer and Mae Ollie Blakely (both deceased). She was one of 11 siblings: Hattie Mae (deceased), Rebecca (Gray), Annie (Ramey), Evonne (Henry), Omega (Tabb), Eloise (Lowe), Maggie (deceased, Elmer Jr., and A.D. Blakely (deceased) and Laura Jean.

Lean graduated from Riverview High School in Waynesboro, Mississippi and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. She moved to Massachusetts to further her career, in which she was blessed with 3 children (Charles, Jason and Tameko (Lynn).

She was an amazing mother, friend, sister and daughter!! For well over two and half decades, she never allowed anything to step in her way of caring, nourishing, disciplinary and providing for her children. We have seen this Super Hero thru the hard struggles of making things happen! Lean was a profession veteran of making “nothing into something and making ends-meet”. Lena worked very hard and after working in various companies, she retired from Joseph Pollack Corporation as a 21 year assembly-Technician.

Lean leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Charles (Andrea), Jason (Lisa) and Tameko (Jacob) , grandchildren: Jacob 4th , Jetta, Shawn, Nysheika, Jason, Jr., Kahron, Adam, Jeremy, Xavier, Zinneia and C.J., great grandchildren; Jacob and Cameron. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 O’clock at Joy Missionary Baptist Church, 1047 N. Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301

Interment: Cedar Grove Cemetery
