Obituary for James Jerome Vickers-Sapp Jr.

James Jerome Vickers Sapp passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2023, at the age of 71, in Roxbury, Massachusetts.

James was born on December 7, 1952 in Quincy, Florida. He was the son of the late James Jerome Sapp and the late Claudis Hinson-Flowers. He moved to Boston, MA in 1968. While in Boston, James was employed by Boston City Hospital, Polaroid, Lord & Jeffs, and Armstrong Flooring.

James was a man of many talents. He was a First Degree Taekwondo Black Belt. He was also a member of the Masons. He played Softball in his adult life, where his sister nicknamed him “Goldie”. No matter where he was on the field he could catch any ball coming his way. James was a great dancer. He enjoyed playing cards and having fun with his friends and family.

James was a kind and loving man. He was a protector and a southern gentleman. Despite how long he lived in Boston, he never quite lost his southern accent. James loved his family deeply and we will deeply miss his affectionate spirit.

James was predeceased by his son, James (Snotty) Eleck Oneal, his father, James Jerome Vickers Sapp, his mother, Claudis Hinson-Flowers, his sister, Wanda Flowers and his aunt, Sarah Hinson.

James is survived by, his children, Janina Rackard-Vickers, Warren Mongo, Shanta Miller, James Williams, Nakea Browning, Tyron Struthers, Daryl Sloane, Laquan Mongo, Caitlin Vickers, his sister, Shirley Flowers, his brother Alto Smith, his ex-wife, Linda Vickers, his partner, Tammy Turner, 21 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
