Obituary for Ivy Louise Seaton (Barrocks )
Ivy Louise (Barrocks) Seaton, 100 years of age, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 31, 2023.
Ivy was born October 11, 1922, in Ginger Hill, St. Elizabeth Jamaica. She was the third of six siblings to the late Cyril and Agatha Barrocks.
Ivy emigrated to the United States (Pennsylvania) from Jamaica in 1967. Years later, she joined her husband and sister in Boston, MA. She worked at New England Deaconess Hospital for over 25 years. Ivy loved traveling, baking, playing the lottery, puzzle books, going to Caribbean dances, and interpreting dreams. Once retired, she spent her later years enjoying and caring for her family.
Ivy Seaton was a beloved wife to Martin Seaton (predeceased) of Westmorland, Jamaica. They were married for 68 years and through this union, created their four children: Robert Seaton (Patricia), Barrington Seaton, Beverley Seaton, and Angela Seaton-Wright (Marc). She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren with another one on the way.
Ivy battled breast cancer intermittently for over 40 years and overcame it twice. The cancer came back in 2000 and she fought for the next 23 years.
