Henry Waller entered eternal rest on Saturday November 12, 2022. Born in Memphis, TN on January 9, 1959, to Mary (James Willie) Waller-Hall and Elbert Bolton. Henry was the eldest son of seven children.
Henry moved to Boston, MA as a teen in 1973, where he was educated in the Boston Public School District. After high school, he joined the Marine Corp Reserve, and was honorably discharged in 1983.
In 1984, Henry became a special officer for school safety services in Boston. He had great satisfaction in being in a role that could make a small difference in people’s lives. After working for many years as a special officer, he made the decision to retire in 2006, and moved back to Memphis, TN where he resided until returning to Boston in 2011. After being out of work for so long he had a desire to return in 2012. He was given an opportunity to work as a security supervisor with Northeast Security. Unfortunately, in 2018, he was unable to continue working doing what he loved due to his health.
In his 30’s, Henry proudly welcomed his first-born son Dantay. He rightfully bragged about how proud he was of how his son became a wonderful man that he is today. Henry was also blessed with his daughter, Claisha, whom he would boast to anyone who would listen, how beautiful and smart she is. Both of his children penetrated his heart and soul. Shortly after, he happily married Daphne. Even though their marriage did not last, their love for one another never wavered. Henrys sister Betty, who he called Boo Boo, was fully committed and by his side when he needed her most. She always managed to keep Henry in good spirits no matter how bad his situation was regarding his health. She was truly dear to his heart.
Henry spent his days watching sports. He was a big fan of the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed watching his old western shows and listening to ol’ school southern music. Henry gave his life to the Lord. He would often watch the Sunday morning church services faithfully with no interruptions.
Henry survived by his partner Clara Lodge and his former spouse Daphne Terry of Boston, MA. His children Dantay (Eva) Waller of Texas and Claisha Hall of Boston, MA. His granddaughter Mia Waller of Texas. He also leaves his sisters Betty Waller of Boston, Ma, Terri Morgan of Memphis, TN and brother Michael Bolton of Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his sister Rosemary Waller, and his brothers David Waller and Willie Waller.
He will be missed deeply by his family and a host of friends.
