Obituary for Elijah J. Pinckney

The oldest child of Aretha (Pinckney) Bonds, Elijah J. Pinckney was born on March 21, 1987 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Jeff, as he was affectionately known, received his education within the Boston Public School system, attending the Mary E. Curley School and the Jeremiah E. Burke High School.

In 2019, Jeff obtained gainful employment with Riley Brothers Construction and Utility Services where he started out as a laborer and worked his way up to Vacuum Truck Operator – a position he was extremely proud of!

Not only was he elated with having a career, but he was also ecstatic that he was doing something that he thoroughly enjoyed; driving trucks and working with his hands fixing things. His time with Riley continually motivated him to want to do more and catapulted his desire to obtain his hoisting endorsement which he was in the process of studying for.

Being the fun, loving, family man that he was, Jeff treasured the time he spent with family and friends unwinding [oftentimes with his favorite glass of tequila], having dinners and sharing laughs. It was an opportunity to show off his amazing cooking skills and unmatched grilling technique. Jeff also had a deep sense for adventure and loved riding his dirt bike. He could often be seen and mostly heard (😊) whizzing through the streets of Roxbury.

An enthusiastic vacationer who loved to travel, Jeff cherished the time he spent visiting Houston, Vegas, Connecticut but above all else – Jeff loved California! From making sure he paid his respects to the Kobe Bryant and Nipsey Hussle memorials, to walking on Hollywood Boulevard and sightseeing on the TMZ tour in Los Angeles; the time he spent in Cali was remarkable.

Jeff also had an undeniable adoration for music, and animals. These interests could often be exhibited through a variety of playlists including some of his favorite artists such as Lil Durk, Rio and G-Herbo as well as his many walks around the neighborhood and trips to the pet store ma king sure Khaos, the family American Bully was taken care of.

Truly one of a kind, Jeff had a contagious smile that lit up any room he was in and an infectious laugh that made you want to join in and laugh with him. Although he rocked a clean cut as of late, back in the day you would often see his hair styled with his preferred six braids.

Always trying his very best to take care of the ones he loved – especially his mom whom he loved dearly and was often her go-to, Jeff was without a doubt, a leader who had the ability to always know what to do and how to handle all situations. Dependable, reliable, responsible and always loyal, Jeff was someone who kids could look up to and who adults could always call on. Undeniably, Jeff was a hardworking, motivated man who was deeply compassionate and had a heart of gold.

Heartbreakingly, Elijah, was called Home on Wednesday November 9, 2022.
