Obituary for Eleanor Ann Humphrey (Brown)
Eleanor Ann Humphrey (Brown) was born to the union of Joseph Brown and Doris Brown (Sullivan) in Boston, Ma. She is the second eldest daughter out of eight siblings. She was educated in the Boston Public School and attended Girls High school. Eleanor started her career at the Polaroid Company.
Shortly after, she met and married her spouse, Joseph Lewis Humphrey, on May 17, 1971. After leaving Polaroid, Eleanor became a stay at home mother and lovingly raised three beautiful daughters (Doris Y. Brown, Christie L. Humphrey Rodriguez, Joanna C. Humphrey- Jones). Eleanor re-entered the work field as a Childcare provider, where she extended her nurturance, guidance and wisdom.
In the year 1971, Eleanor’s nephew, Norman Parks, at the age of six, attended Deliverance Revival Tabernacle (DRT) and excitedly ran home to tell his aunt about his experience. This peaked Eleanor's curiosity and shortly afterwards she attended a DRT service and became an active member. Eleanor was very involved in the DRT ministry, which included the prison ministry, choir music ministry, Sunday school ministry as a teacher and nursing home ministry.
Eleanor was a strong prayer warrior and served on DRT’s prayer team. Eleanor became an ordained minister on December 31, 2017. Eleanor also became the “Mother” of DRT and would welcome members with a warm embrace. Eleanor really loved the Lord and was dedicated to her faith! Eleanor was a true “Woman of God” and found every opportunity to witness to others; spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to the young and old.
If you knew Eleanor, you knew that she loved to laugh and make others laugh as well. Eleanor’s laugh was very contagious. She had such a vibrant sense of humor! Eleanor had an optimistic view of life; she always saw the glass being half full. She was always there to give encouraging and wise words to others.
Eleanor was proceeded in death by her parents, Joesph Brown Sr and Doris Brown, her husband Joseph Humphrey, her brothers, Joseph Brown Jr and Ralph Brown Sr.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters; Doris Yvette Brown; son in law (Theodore Brown) , Christie Love Humphrey Rodriguez, Joanna Claudia Humphrey Jones. Siblings; Sister-in-law Diane Brown, Isabelle (Dottie) Parks, Author Brown, Sister-in-law Vicky Brown, Richard Brown, Sister in Law, Christine Brown, Claudia Brown Hyppolite, Steven Brown, Sister-in-law Mary Brown. Grandchildren; Brittany Marie Roberson, Jossué Jose Rodriguez Jr, Ramon Lewis Rodriguez, Isaiah Diego Rodriguez, Yasmin Janai Jones, and Malachi Josiah Strothers, and many nieces and nephews, family members and friends.
