Eddie Earl Mims was born April 4, 1956 to Horace and Essie Mae Mims in Elba, Alabama. Eddie was always ambitious and eager to be on the move. He started walking at the tender age of 8 months and had been on the go ever since. Growing up, Eddie always had a thirst for knowledge and a strong desire to learn more. He was very inquisitive and such an intellectual person. If Eddie was not swimming in the creek, he was developing his entrepreneurial skills and trying to make money. Eddie always had something to sell.
In the mid 1960s, Eddie migrated up North to Boston, MA. He lived with family in Columbia Point. Eddie desired to further his knowledge and education and hoped for a better living. Eventually, Eddie went on to obtain his General Education Diploma (GED).
In 1984, Eddie was introduced by a co-worker at Polaroid to his love, Jean Fye. The two enjoyed each other's company and went on to get married in 1994. They enjoyed a lovely honeymoon in Vancouver, Canada. Jean and Eddie were entertainers. They enjoyed having family over for cookouts and spending time with their grandchildren.
Eddie was a jack of all trades. Some knew him as a singer, comedian, artist, entrepreneur, realtor and so much more. Eddie sold insurance and spent some time as a realtor as well as an iron-worker. He helped construct one of the buildings in the Prudential area. Eddie was a self-made genius - he could do it all. Eddie took pride in his many jobs. In his final job, he worked at Codman Square Health Center as a coordinator of patient referrals. He touched the lives of many people with his warm smile and easy-going personality.
Eddie endeavored to live life to the fullest. He loved to travel, enjoyed fishing and spending time out in nature. Whenever it rained, Eddie would sit outside in his chair with an umbrella and soak it in.
