Obituary for Diane Marie Cook (Valentine)

Diane Marie Valentine, daughter of the late Dorothy Wright and Edger Valentine was born April 26, 1954 in Boston, Massachusetts . On Tuesday January 12, 2022, God called his Angel home. She was the fourth of five children.

She received her education at Boston Public Schools. She attended Salem state College.

Diane was a "Jack of all Trades". She was an educator at Head Start, She was a dispatcher at Ebony Cab Company, she was a driver of a handicap van for Transco and when she lived in Florida she was an assembly women at MC assembly.

Dodi went back to her roots and was a devoted member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, in Boston, Massachusetts

Diane AKA Dodi was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Dodi loved family but most importantly she loved her grand and great grand children. Mi Mi as they affectionately called her, loved to share funny stories about them. She was so proud of them, especially Mykal and she loved being ''part of their lives. She loved life and she enjoyed having good times with her family and friends. Dodi had an infectious laugh and always had a smile on her face, even when she was troubled she had a sense that everything was going to be alright. Dodi only had 3 children but she was a surrogate mother to hundreds of other kids in Boston and Florida! Dodi just like her mom, showed love to anyone who needed it: Down on your luck, needed a place to stay, a bite to eat or even a few dollars Dodi was there for you. She made sure you got what you needed . She pushed her girls to be courageous and put aside their fears.

Diane was a special women and she treated her nieces and nephews with the same love that she shared with her girls. Diane didn't mind taking them on trips to the amusement park, the playground, Hogan's Pond, or even to work.


Special memories now remain with those who loved her. She is survived by; her aunt: Agnes Robinson, Three daughters: Tiffany, Krystal , and Aja, Sister's: Valerie Johnson, Stacey Valentine-Royster, Deborah Johnson and Denise Wright. Three grandchildren: Mykal, Isabella, and Deshawana Two great grandchildren: Mykal Jr and Sanai. Her nieces and nephews, Kevin, Carmen, Nneka ,Noah, cofee, Shay, Brandy, Dominique, Robert Jr., Anthony, Dwayne, Natalie, Courtney, Eric, Annastasia, Nikki, and Eddie III, Cousins: Lynette, Mark, Tina, Loise, Vanessa, Lorraine, and Veronica.

Adopted loved ones: Darnell, Michael and Shannon just to name a few.
,Her "Partner in crime" Debbie King and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
