Obituary for Bessie Mae Mosley

Bessie was born in Perry County, Alabama, one of the twelve children born to the late S.M. and Christine Gaston Hollis of Montgomery Alabama. She married James E. Mosley, Sr. on October 20, 1968.

Bessie was a loving mother, wife and grandmother devoted to her family and friends. She served in the U.S. Peace Corps and travelled all over the world. She had a degree in Early Childhood Psychology.

In the early part of the 1970s, she became a bus monitor for the Boston Public School Department where she retired in 2010. She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, James E. Mosley, Sr.; seven children: James E. Mosley, Jr.; Marlenia, Galvaton, Enola, Yermilia, Napier, and Ceasar; seven grandchildren: Scott, Neil, Sharmeria, Cezaria, Faith, Julius and Jayceon.

Three sisters survive her death: Doris Hollis (Marion, Alabama); Cathy Hollis and Dieann Hollis (Tulissa, Alabama); two brothers: Reginald Hollis (Marion, Alabama); S.M. (Mary) Hollis of New Bern, Alabama; her sister-in-law, Darlene Mosley and Stephen Wright; and a host of nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Those preceding her in death include Loreen Steele, Virginia Moore, Joyce Dingle, Ann Boyd, Murrie Hollis, James Perry Hollis; and her late brother-in-law, Leroy Mosley,
