Obituary for Albertha Elizabeth "Ivy" Fenton

Albertha Elizabeth Fenton was born on June 7, 1946 to the Late Hezekiah and Mary (Greenaway) Fenton on the Island of Montserrat. Ivy was one of eight children born to Hezekiah and Mary.

Ivy as she was known to her family and friends was born and raised in the Village of St. John. It was in St. John where she along with her sibling attended school. After she left school Ivy went work in Old Town, Montserrat as a Home Health Aide.

In the late 1980’s Ivy migrated to the US living for a short time in New York before joining her brother, Richard in Massachusetts. Once she settled in Boston, Ivy went back to school and earned her high school diploma from English High School. In the states she continued her career as a Home Health Aid where she would work for nearly 30 years before retiring due to health reasons.

Ivy knew the Lord, she attended church with her brother in Boston and was baptized by the late Bishop Thomas J. Weeks at the Bethel Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. She would eventually join and serve the church for a number of years. Ivy loved to cook and bake; whenever she cooked she prepared enough for company. She was the life of the party, especially the ones that she threw for herself! Where ever Ivy went she made sure everyone knew that she was there! Ivy was a bright light with a colorful personality. Those who were blessed to have her in their life will truly miss her spirit.

Ivy is preceded in death by her parents, Hezekiah and Mary Fenton and three sibling: Madge Fenton, Francis Fenton, and Alice Fenton.

Ivy leaves behind to keep her alive in their hearts her family - Aunt: Iris Greenaway; Sibling: Dina Fenton, Iola (Greenaway) Lee (George), John Fenton (Salome), Mary Allen, St. Clair Fenton, Joseph Fenton, Richard Fenton (Claudette), Dorothy Daly (James Scriber), Charles Fenton, Danny Parris, Sandreen Parris.
